What is Friends of Drummond (FOD)?

Friends of Drummond (FOD) is a 501(c)(3) parent-run organization whose sole mission is to raise money to support Drummond Montessori School. We accomplish this by developing, marketing and managing fundraising events and activities. Our needs continue to grow as we face a major challenge, but with your generous support FOD is dedicated to ensuring the programs and people that makes Drummond special.

What is Drummond Montessori?

Drummond Montessori is a unique CPS magnet school that has been educating students using the philosophy of Dr. Maria Montessori for 15 years. Students are encouraged to become independent learners, critical thinkers and active members of our global society. Drummond provides a free Montessori education--that is typically only in private schools.

As a CPS school, Drummond Montessori has to deal with a dwindling school budget, and the uncertainty of whether we will be able to fund the resources needed to provide our children with the quality education they deserve.

How does FOD raise money?

 » Annual Fund Drive: 

All Drummond families are asked to give to the Annual fund.  A suggested donation of $600 per family will help ensure we can continue to maintain all staffing and programs.

» Celebrate Drummond! Auction and Party:

A community celebration and fundraiser party held each spring.  The entire community comes together to celebrate Drummond Montessori and raise money through ticket sales, auction and donations.

» Community and Corporate Sponsors:

We are currently looking for local businesses to donate silent auction items and corporate sponsors to support our efforts for the Arts, Sports and other Ancillary education not funded by CPS.

We are also in search of sponsors to support refurbishing our outdoor space.

What are our funding commitments?

Over the 2018-19 school year, through all our efforts, we raised over $100,000 to support positions, supplies and materials for Drummond Montessori.  Once the school's budget is confirmed by the Local School Council, these funds will be granted to Drummond to support positions and programs at Drummond Montessori for the 2019-20 school year.
