What is Drummond Montessori?
Drummond
Montessori is a unique CPS magnet school that has been educating
students using the philosophy of Dr. Maria Montessori for over 10 years.
Students are encouraged to become independent learners, critical
thinkers and active members of our global society. Drummond provides a
free Montessori education--that is typically only in private schools.
As a
CPS school, Drummond Montessori has to deal with a dwindling school budget, and the
uncertainty of whether we will be able to fund the resources needed to
provide our children with the quality education they deserve.
Who are we?
Friends
of Drummond (FOD) is a 501(c)(3) parent-run organization whose sole
mission is to raise money to support Drummond Montessori School. We
accomplish this by developing, marketing and managing fundraising events
and activities. Our needs continue to grow as we face a major
challenge, but with your generous support FOD is dedicated to ensuring
the programs and people that makes Drummond special.
How do we raise money?
Annual Fund Drive - all Drummond families are asked to give to the Annual fund. A suggested donation of $275 per family will help ensure we can continue to maintain all staffing and programs.

What are our funding commitments?
Last
year through all our efforts we raised a $102,000 net. For this 2016-17 school year, the money raised is funding Music and Library teaching positions as well as a teacher assistant position.
The "Giving Tree" donations at our fundraiser party in March raised and granted over $5000 to individual classroom works and supplies.
